Starbucks is known for its festive transformation during the holiday season — customizing everything from their cups to their gift cards to the interior decor of their stores. I was reminded of the 2015 “Red Cup” controversy some months after the conversation had died down and I began to wonder if there was a way to keep their simplistic brand recognition, while also celebrating the joyous season. From this, I created the Santa Siren – a whimsical design that toys with the core branding of Starbucks, while still keeping it intact and recognizable.
